An update to Games for Windows - LIVE is available.

Grand Theft Auto IV for PC requires Games for Windows - LIVE in order to play online Multiplayer.

To ensure that the Games for Windows - LIVE update proceeds as smoothly as possible, we have provided the following link:


UPDATE INSTRUCTIONS:
Download GAMES FOR WINDOWS - LIVE update
  1. Click on the above link and save the file to your hard drive.

  2. Once the file has downloaded, open the file and follow the instructions to complete the update process.

  3. When the Games for Windows - LIVE software update is completed, please re-launch Grand Theft Auto IV to play.


Grand Theft Auto IV requires that this update take place outside of the game as there is a known issue when updating Games for Windows - LIVE from within the game. The problem will be addressed in a future game patch. We apologize for any inconvenience.
