Watch "Thunder-Fist of Fury!!!" by FUGETSUDO_JR - The Winning Clip from the Social Club TV Episodes from Liberty City Fight Club Video Editor Contest

Posted on November 30 2010, 10:55am | Author: R* Z | Filed Under: Games, Social Club

The bell has rung, and a champion has been crowned.  The prize-winning belt in the Fight Club video editor contest (the latest in our Social Club TV Episodes from Liberty City Video Editor Contests series) goes to frequent contender Fugetsudo_Jr from the USA for his pugilistic flick, "Thunder-Fist of Fury!!!".

In the clip, Luis Lopez, bullied one time too many after an encounter with some roughnecks at Cluckin' Bell - discovers that he holds the power of the 'Thunder-Fist.'  In this case, great power comes with complete irresponsibility as Luis goes on a rampage with his newfound ability through the streets of Liberty.  The video's clever use of the "punchout" in-game cheat and entertaining fight choreography took it over the top.  Enjoy.

Fugetsudo_Jr's winning entry earns him a brand new Shuttle Gaming PC that has been given a kickass Ballad of Gay Tony Fight Club custom makeover as seen below.  He additionally receives a Deluxe Prize Pack of Grand Theft Auto: Episodes From Liberty City collectibles as well as a Steam code for Rockstar Games classics on PC.

Also check out our two runners up, MR.HERO and MRICHSTON, who turned out some quality fighting-themed entries and will be rewarded with the deluxe prize pack of Grand Theft Auto: Episodes From Liberty City collectibles and Rockstar PC classics Steam codes.

"My End is the Beginning" by MR.HERO of France - paints a picture of Luis as a tortured underground cage fighting veteran who can't shake a life of violence and brutal revenge.

& "Clones of Bahama Mamas" by MRICHSTON of Finland.  A sci-fi-ish take on the fighting theme set in the popular bridge and tunnel Algonquin nightclub.  Think "Blade Runner" meets "Jersey Shore."  Meets "Fight Club."  Really.

Please note that winner prize fulfillment is contingent on response and completion of required eligibility forms.

Our next Episodes From Liberty City Video Contest announcement is right around the corner, so stay tuned for details very soon here at the Rockstar Newswire.

Rockstar Game Tips: Saying "Auf Wiedersehen Petrovic" (Grand Theft Auto IV)

Posted on September 24 2010, 9:51am | Author: R* Z | Filed Under: Games

Mr. Petrovic

Although the “Auf Wiedersehen Petrovic” Achievement/Trophy may not have the highest point value, it is still to this day one of the most difficult and most requested game tips in all of Grand Theft Auto IV.  The basic synopsis says, ”Win all ranked multiplayer variations, all races and 'Cops ‘n Crooks', as both sides” but this brief description entails a whole lot of challenge.  With no further ado, read on for a nice, detailed description that can serve as a checklist for all those GTAIV players that have struggled to nail this one.

To receive this Achievement/Trophy you must have:

  • the highest point total at the end of the game for all points based games
  • achieved the best race time (at the end of the race) for all Race tracks (including Helicopter races, Boat races, Free races, and Cannonball Runs)
  • achieved the best race time (at the end of the race) for all GTA Race tracks (including Helicopter races, Boat races, Free races, and Cannonball Runs)
  • won as both a “cop” and a “crook” in both variations of Cops n’ Crooks
  • completed each of the Co-op modes

Additional Requirements:

  • There must be at least 1 opponent in the game when the final leaderboard is finished processing – being the only player left does not count
  • For PS3 users, all games won since 12/17/2008 count toward this challenge, but not the ones prior to that date

Finally, some users have reported that their race stats were not counting toward completion of the “Auf Wiedersehen Petrovic” Achievement/Trophy due to lag in uploading or a bad internet connection.  If you have experienced either of these problems, make sure to check your internet connection and also have a quick look at the leaderboards to verify that your stats have been sent successfully before powering down your console.

Any other Achievements/Trophies or particularly tough missions you need help with?  As always, just shout in the comments below and we may look to cover it in an upcoming Rockstar Game Tips.

Presenting "Fight Club" - The Latest Social Club TV Episodes from Liberty City Video Editor Contest

Posted on September 20 2010, 11:16am | Author: R* Z | Filed Under: Games, Social Club

Get your weight up.  It's time to make a return to the Liberty City cage fighting scene with the Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City PC Fight Club Video Editor Contest at Social Club TV.

On the heels of the Bad Ass Biker Gang Contest with the announcement of IWJosh's "Easy Rider" as the marvelously edited winning clip, the new Fight Club Video Editor Contest will find you switching episodes over to The Ballad of Gay Tony and its seedy underground fighting establishments, using the PC version's in-game suite of video editing tools to film your best brawl.

For your entry to be a contender, just keep your video at 5 minutes or less and have it incorporate either the underground cage fighting tournaments or an epic brawl in another part of Liberty City; whether you take an artful Raging Bull type approach or go lowbrow with Bum Fights galore - the possibilities are endless.

The winning video entry will take home a fully customized entertainment PC from Shuttle® – powered by an Intel® quad-core processor, Sparkle GeForce® GTX 470 graphics cards and 4GB of Mushkin enhanced performance memory.  The Shuttle® ultimate entertainment PC is only one-third the size of a regular PC, but it brings more games, more fun, and more style to your living room.  Here's an artist's rendering of what the final grand prize kit will look like.

Two runners-up will also receive an Episodes from Liberty City collectibles pack and a Steam code unlocking the full Rockstar back catalog on PC.

To enter, upload your video to Social Club TV using the Episodes from Liberty City PC in-game video editor anytime between now and 10/11/2010 and make sure to use the tag "fight-club".  When you're done, go to the Fight Club channel page on Social Club TV to check out other entries as they start flowing in (and vote on the ones you like the best).

We’ll pick the winning clip taking into consideration entertainment value, editing quality and overall creativity as well as Social Club user ratings.  Keep checking back at Social Club TV to see how other Social Clubbers think your clip stacks up against the competition and stay tuned for the winners announcement later this fall.
