Read Hands-On Previews of Undead Nightmare’s “Murderous, but Amazing, Undead Multiplayer”

Now that you've seen yesterday's "UNDEAD OVERRUN" multiplayer video, read on for some of the impressions from sites around the world that got a bloody hands-on taste of Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare’s new 4-player co-op survival mode.  Here’s just a sample of what they had to say:

“Meet Undead Overrun.  John Marston’s murderous, but amazing, undead multiplayer… Hugely tense and frenetic, Undead Nightmare’s co-op is an absolute riot when you get a team running around graveyards reviving each other and generally putting an end to anything without a pulse…” – Gamesradar

“It's then that the first of innumerable undead hordes begin streaming over the horizon and hilarity ensues.  And for the first time, I'm not being glib when I say that - hilarity does in fact ensue.  As zombies of varying shapes and sizes pour into the map, the players react in a mad flurry to remain alive.  Some zombies charge at the players, trying to knock them off their feet.  Some bound at them on all fours, proving to be incredibly difficult targets to hit.  Still more, special zombies, take aim and hurl green, glowing goo at the players.  All the while, the sinister narrator's voice booms over the action, providing leering commentary throughout…  For my money it really is some of the most fun you can have with your mates in a graveyard, albeit a virtual one.  And that's a fact.” – Telegraph UK

“Undead Overrun proves a riotous survival experience; straightforward enough to pick up and play, but with a co-operative streak and addictive score-attack sensibility to make for immense replayability.” – Nowgamer

“Undead Nightmare's multiplayer has that key ingredient – fun… As if Undead Nightmare's single-player component wasn't incentive enough to slap down 800 Microsoft Points, the addition of a co-operative multiplayer mode is most definitely the clincher.  And on the strength of our hands-on session with Undead Overrun, the DLC will live on long after you've finished its story-driven portion.” – Xbox 360 Achievements

“Just in time for Hallowe'en, and I wouldn't be surprised if this is the one game everyone's going to jump online with come the 31st.” – Spong

Our friends from Ashtar Command just posted this video of a live performance they recorded of "Deadman's Gun" from the Red Dead Redemption Soundtrack.  This live rendition embellishes upon the original acoustic version found on the game's official soundtrack with a full string section, piano and multiple backing vocalists.  The crew even posted up the lyrics for the song for those that want to lip synch along.  Good stuff.

Live Performance of "Far Away" by Jose Gonzalez from the Red Dead Redemption Soundtrack

Jose Gonzalez recently took time out of his busy summer tour schedule to swing by the Rockstar offices in New York and perform this intimate, acoustic rendition of “Far Away”, his contribution to the Red Dead Redemption Soundtrack. Most of you will remember this song from when John Marston first reaches Mexico, riding horseback along a dusty trail between cascading red cliffs and the San Luis River; definitely one of Red Dead’s most visually and sonically memorable moments.
