from Russia with Love
I have been playing video games since video games were available to play and I have to say that you guys take the cake as the best game developers out there. I still remember picking up a used copy of GTA III thinking "I'll give it a shot since it's gotten so much buzz but whatever, we'll see." My initial reaction was "Hmm, graphics could use some work and it's probably not as open-world as it claims to be..." A few hours later I had been transformed into a veritable Dave Bowman (2001 [also the year it was released]), exclaiming in awe "OMG, it's full of stars!" Cut to almost 10 years later and I still get that gamer's glee when I play your games.
I love Red Dead. You have again surpassed yourselves, not to mention all your competitors. I don't know how you do it, but please don't stop. Most game companies seem to have their eyes set on making oodles of money on quick fix games - flashy but guick to finish - without a broader view of longevity. You guys seem to have the opposite perspective, thankfully. I don't know why it's such a difficult idea for some game companies to wrap their minds around but as a longtime gamer I have to say I hate the format of most games. You play through the story and then it's done. What do you get for all your work? Trophies just don't cut it for me. If I pay 60 - 80$ for a game I'd like some content. I'd like to be able to stretch my gaming experience indefinitely. Red Dead takes that idea and flies with it. You guys definitely GET IT! So thank you, thank you, thank you!
BTW, don't listen to all the naysayers - zombies are a good idea!
In fact as long as you keep releasing DLC, I'll be on board. I'm not much a multiplayer gamer, I admit. I prefer running solo but Red Dead has had me exploring the multiplayer world simply because it extends my Red Dead play. If I have one suggestion/request it would be for more challenges or things to do to build up XP on your own in the multiplayer world. I realize this may be a bit of a pipe dream given that it is MULTIplayer but since you guys (& gals) are so fantastic at keeping the game evolving and open to different styles of play, I thought it worth a shot.
Last but not least, If I may now grovel at your worhty feet... if you ever need an experienced first-gen gamer's input or ideas, or hell, need an actor (my profession) who will work on the cheap - just in the off-chance that is! - I'm available! Ha ha! (I don't want to think how many tweens have already offered their survices.)
Again, Thank you. Keep on Rockin' in the free world!
