Red Dead Cheaters and Hackers Be Warned: The Ban Hammer Is Coming – Next Week
Oh yes. As promised, the ban hammer is a’coming.
Next week, starting on Tuesday, August 24th – we will be swiftly and indefinitely banishing from the world of Red Dead Redemption multiplayer all Gamertags and PSN IDs we’ve detected with hacked game saves. Such cheating is a clear violation of our code of conduct, and punishable at our sole discretion.
If you are one of these people, we are giving you this last chance for REDEMPTION to restore your HONOR: you have one week from today to delete your hacked game save to be spared the hammer’s swift justice on the 24th.
Some notes to be aware of:
* This will not apply to those people who simply took advantage of temporary exploits to rapidly grind up XP a few weeks ago. We are able to tell who actually hacked their save to have impossible scores.
* Banned hackers will also be removed from the leaderboards.
* To be spared, any hacked saves that you have will need to be deleted – single player as well as multiplayer. You should be aware that everything is wiped when deleting saves. These are the only exceptions:
- Players would keep any Achievements/Trophies they had already earned.
- All preorder items tied to their accounts would be unlocked for them upon signing in and creating a new save while connected to Xbox LIVE or PlayStation Network
- Any cheats earned through Social Club would be unlocked for them upon signing in and creating a new save while connected to Xbox LIVE or PlayStation Network
* After deleting your hacked game save(s), you will then need to go online with Red Dead Redemption (prior to August 24th) for it to register that you're now playing clean. For single-player saves, you will need to re-play the game while connected until you gain access to the safehouse at MacFarlane's ranch. For multiplayer saves, you will need to play one full game online or do one Gang Hideout.
Also – we’d like to make clear that the comments area below is not the place to air out your grievances with this or to state your excuse (“Um, my cousin was playing on my 360 for a few days – I think he did it!” etc) – all such comments here and in other posts will be deleted, subject to our terms of service. Please instead direct any and all correspondence on this subject to banhammer@rockstargames.com and we will have a look there.

When I first began playing Red Dead Redemption, I cannot remember coming accross any hackers or glitchers, however now every session that I join, there seems to be someone who is cheating. I will admit, I have done the invinsibility glitch before so that I could try the flying glitch. However this was in a private session with my friends. Now though it's almost impossible to join a session and enjoy playing when you have at least one individual continuously killing you from an unreachable point. Now this is not the moral of the game and is giving them an unfair advantage. How are you supposed to kill the individual if they show up on various locations on the map and cannot be reached? How are you also supposed to enjoy a good challanging game with people that will not die, when this happens there is absoloutely no challange or competition and it has resulted in what used to be a brilliant game to particular individuals freezing others and causing trouble. I have been froze countless times meaning I have to restart my ps3, this is usually done unprovoked as well. Certain individuals take pleasure in chasing after less vunerable when they are glitching in order to repeatedly kill them. Although I am top prestige and know how to defend myself fairly, it's quite impossible when you are not able to kick the indiviual or kill them. Genuine players shouldn't have to change session or limit themselves to playing in friendly free roam. How is this fair? People that play correctly should be able to choose which game mode they wish and have no problems when there. Now I cant assume that Rockstar Games is doing nothing to resolve this because they might be however after all the money and popularity you have gained from this game I think it's fair to say that you should be trying to resolve this for your loyal players. Although the game is old, there are still many gamers which love to play this game therefore glitchers and hackers which have bad intentions should be the ones restricted to gaming not us? Red Dead is not as good as it used to be and it's a shame. These pathetic individuals that believe it is good to hack the servers and spoil it for the rest of us really need a reality check because I fail so see how that is 'fun'. Utterly embarassing if I'm honest.

Red Dead Redemption Multiplayer seems to be hacked again since mid of December 2013. There are many cheaters using an invisible or undead cheat.
Yesterday 12/29/2013 - 6:47 pm I have rececived an "invitation" (as follows), from the user GREMLIN-s1ck from the UK, to use this cheat too:
"there a glitch in macfarlanes farm to lvl up extra fast... find bodys on floor with no arms, slash them, then your screen will go blury, go to pikes basin, kill the law, keep your bounty, do pikes basin repeatedly, if you die, repeat the sequence with the body... have fun friend"
Until this message I thought he was a serious gamer and not part of those wretched creatures who are destroying this fantastic game and are anoying all players who love the competition and playing the game with other serious gamers worldwide. Currently it is nearly impossible for serious gamers to play the RDR Multiplayer game, there are no sessions available which are not influenced by cheats, cheaters and hackers.
So RockStar Games please do something against those cardsharpers immediately and ban all the idiots who just try to destroy this amazing game.

on May 2 2013, 8:29ama few weeks ago i encountered 2 hackers. i was out on free roam session hunting and killing higher level players( my ps3 got YLOD so my saves are gone so does my level came back to 1) and then, these 2 guys just went out to kill me. they killed me several times and then i tried deadeye on them and marked their heads but they didn't die. tried several times and just gave up -_- and yesterday i encountered an immortal player too... i love this game but this hackers are annoying as hell! i hope GTA V MP wont be like this
on March 27 2013, 12:29amive had a similar experience myself when somebody has a bounty on their head i should be able to kill them to earn the bounty even when up close but lately i notice even at close range with a buffalo riffle cant kill them i hope rockstar does go after cheaters and either ban them or put them on a server so they can off themselves for fun!

on November 23 2012, 8:44pmHello i'm IlReAlligatore7,i want segnalate the player RatedRMixdorf,everytime when we do private he comes and he plays dirty with his aimbot.He does impossible things in spin and without spin,everytime in matches,with maybe some of the best players on this game (jerrylover,khaled_ksa55,ndoor,IlReAlligatore7,NEW_Great_FASSY,ecc...) he does 40 kills with 40 headshots and 10 dies...He's not more stronger than us,he just uses an aimbot.I hope in these days take a video.

But it is not fun anymore to play when another player, KILLAFORNIA kills me with anything, even dynamite while he is really miles away. For example, he used throwing knifes and killed me while he was 5000 ft away.
Can anybody do something about people like Killafornia77 and Killafornia88?
Then we, my son and I will have a lot more fun with this great game

'Lt Petr0' on Xbox 360 for Hacking in Red Dead Redemption. He was using a hack to have unlimited ammo in the explosive rifle and was able to rapidly fire it like a machine gun. He kept instantly killing me when I respawned until my game crashed into a loading loop. He had top rank and all gold guns hacked too...If they don't get banned the best we can do is always Vote To Kick them from games
