What's the deal with game developers these days? There is never a quick response to the needs of desperate gamers. NEVER. To wipe their butts clean they come up with all sorts of high-flung excuses to poorly justify their ineptitude in delivering their promises. Is this some "in" thing? That you must serve the Western regions well first, glitch up the games made for the Asian regions, promise a patch, then delay it till kingdom come?
Answer us Rockstar. If Square Enix can do it within two days, there is no reason for why two months after the game's release, you just cannot fix a simple button anomaly! What's so hard about that? I mean you can program a marvelously smooth and beautiful game that delivers a smashing gaming experience - why is it that you must bite your butts off over a simple issue like SWAPPING THE FUNCTIONS OF TWO BUTTONS? It's bad enough that you keep us waiting and keep delivering lame excuses. Now you want to keep us waiting some more? Lovely. Absolutely lovely.
And no use giving threats that this would be the last Rockstar game you'll ever buy guys. As long as there are two whole nations that are willing to buy Rockstar's excellent games (that are programmed with only THEM in mind) and give them the millions and billions, there's no need to care about the poor Asians, isn't there?
I'm sure by the time this comment is read, you've already have a pretty good awareness of the existance of a certain x/o button glitch.
So I'm not going to explain more on the symptoms.
But as an avid gamer, and long time fan of Rockstar, I am disappointed at your response to this issue.
We shouldn't even be pleading for a patch. Fixing the glitch is your responsiblility. We, gamer and developer, should work together to improve the game experience.
Get it fixed, fast. Or risk losing your fans. The real source of strength of Rockstar.
first of all, thanks for a great game! I have always been a huge fan of your games since the top-down GTA II.
RDR single player was great - I got the 100% like in all previous GTA games - but NOW TO THE MULTIPLAYER: It is just so frustrating to me. I constantly get the "removed from session due to connection issues with other players" when entering crowded sessions (more than around 3-4 players). It's like that:
If I get into a game (free roam or competitive types) it lets me connect most of the time, meaning i get IN the game just to be kicked OUT a minute later or so "due to connection issues". If I'm fast and switch to the player's list i can see coloured player names and grey ones. If i get it right, I'm connected to the the coloured, but not to the grey ones. It seems like if there is at least one grey player on that list, i get disconnected.
It seems all fine playing in free roam doing hideouts with a friend, or even some coop-missions. But I freak out when reading on the loading screen "there is more to multiplayer than just free roam"! I would love to sheck out competitive modes with LOTS of players, but there is always at least one "grey" player in there, so i get kicked out again.
I am sure that it's not an issue with my connection (yes, NAT type 2, cable-connected to router, even put the ps3 in a DMZ) and I play other multiplayer games too, without any problems.
PLEASE R*! PLEASE TELL ME WHEN YOU FIX THIS!
After feeling underwhelmed by GTA IV to the extent that I didn't even complete it I was considering passing on RDR. However, due to playing the original Red Dead and being a big fan of spaghetti westerns in general, I decided that I would give RDR game a chance. I thoroughly enjoyed the game, cleared the story and felt that it was a far more compelling experience than GTA IV ever was. Having said that, not being able to play certain sections without constant stop starting (or not at all in the case of the arm wrestling mini game), being unable to complete certain sidequests (collecting outfits), keeping watch on this forum for patches and reading responses from the Rockstar Tech Support saying they are looking into a fix (for 2 months); I feel that the final experience of the game has been soured.
If no patch comes I feel that this will be the last Rockstar title I purchase.
Hello,
RDR controls are designed for European and US consoles, so the behaviour is not guaranteed when the game is played on consoles for other regions. However this is a known problem and we are looking into this issue.
Kind regards,

Asia's not important enough to fix a simple button mapping issue?
Also, I have an asian (bought it in Bangkok, not sure where it's from originally) ps3 and a region 3 copy of the game and I have the button issue, I can't see how buying the japanese release would change anything.
