New Red Dead Redemption Competitive Multiplayer Shootout Playlists Coming Monday

Posted on May 26 2010, 11:08am | Author: R* Q | Filed Under: Games

Join us this Monday May 31st (that’s Memorial Day here in the US), when we’ll be unlocking all-new Shootout Multiplayer Playlists for Red Dead’s Competitive Modes.  The Gang Shootout Multiplayer Playlist is all about gangs battling to the death.  These will take place in Armadillo, Chuparosa, Tumbleweed and Hennigan’s Stead facing off against rival multiplayer gangs.  Jump in alone and join up with a gang, or come in with your own posse of friends to take the other team down.  For the Experts, we’ve also included a Hardcore Gang Shootouts Playlist.  We’ll be shouting on Twitter and Facebook when we’re going online that day to have a go with you all.

would be nice with expert targeting in free roam

Hey Rockstar, i'd love to see new things added onto the free roam of this game, like the mi---ames (Poker, Horseshoes etc.). Also, i think that it would be great if the lasso was on free roam too, but if you lassoed and hogtied one of your friends, you could have the chance to get out of it by pressing certain buttons in order.
Finally, i think it would be amazing if you could challenge one of your friends to a classic duel... :)

The game online is great but its missing lots and lots of features, trains, lasso, card games, NPC gang members roaming around, or maybe the NPC gang members attacking a city and we can see the lawmen trying to defend it.....

            - just make it so that the lasso time is short and if you miss it takes a while to wind it back up

R* here is a simple solution to the multiplayer lasso issue, make it so players cant lasso other players, just NPCs. You've already done something like this in the single player, like how you cant lasso dogs.

i love this game i also would love to use the lasso in multiplayer and make more maps or more co op missions for big posses. and it would be awsome for my posse to challenge another posse in a gang match or a classic duel u know

There needs to be much more to do in Free Roam. With big posse sizes you can destroy a hideout in a few minutes.

Much more extended co-op battles for large groups is whats needed, like take on the mexican Army etc something epic in scale.

Also mini-games in free roam like cards, dice etc

This game rocks! I've convinced three of my friends to pick it up.
Now, how about you guys use this game engine to build a zombie apocalypse game?! I won't spell out everything I have in mind unless there is some interest. A persistent zombie apocalypse world where players teamed up to secure strongholds and goods against limitless hordes of zombies, and other groups of survivors, would be phenomenal.
Also, I am quite glad that you guys made an adult game that did not include GTA-like sexual situations.
Here's to many more years of creative gaming!

Would love to see the mi---ames available in Free Roam. A few friends and I have wondered why we can't play horseshoes or Liar's Dice together when we need a break from raising hell in Free Roam together.

                            @toogood4yall

I'm also looking forward to seeing bigger maps. Most of them are way too small for horses.

I know this is answered in the FAQ, but it wasn't too specific. I'd like to see TONS more to do in Free Roam. Sure 6 missions is great, but how long is that going to last, 2 maybe 3 hours at best? I'm kind of disappointed in the lack of things to do in Free Roam. Luckily I like the organized games, but alot of my friends only like Free Roam. Love the game, according to the social club I've logged almost 100 hours (Not sure if that's right). Didn't like GTA, because singleplayer had too much to do. This game feels just right.

Rockstar,im just wondering if we are going to be getting more bigger maps like diez coronas where we actually have to use our horses.

I have noticed that every time I quit multiplayer free roam or other game type I wind up in a loop of loading screens. I wait and wait but nothing happens forcing a reboot. This is vey annoying to say the least. I very recently played a shootout in which I killed a Rstar player, even remember seeing a notice about a trophy or something but after reboot none of my recent game stats including this trophy were there. As a matter of fact my game record was completly blank! This is sad as I probably won't kill another Rstar player :( LOL But besides the Rstar thing, it's more important to fix the endless exit, stuck on loading, reboot issue.

I have to add thought on Lasso in MP, I say NOOOO. There is no doubt in my mind that if added you would just have people being dragged endlessly around, perhaps even being used as target practice by posses, not fun for the draggie...heheh soo please no lasso in MP!!!

Mini games in MP. . . yes yes!!!

what about just lassoes that only last for about 15 seconds but eventualy break off or somthing?
