Recap and Screens: Episodes from Liberty City PS3 Social Club Multiplayer Event (April 27)

(Riding out on PSN during the most recent Episodes from Liberty City Social Club Multiplayer Event...)
In the most recent Episodes from Liberty City PS3 multiplayer session from the Social Club Multiplayer Events Series, hundreds of players clashed in The Ballad of Gay Tony and The Lost and Damned with our own Rockstars for over three hours, while spectators worldwide watched the stream and chatted with us and other Social Club members at the official event page.
Read on for a recap of some of the greatest moments and matches during the afternoon, accompanied as usual by choice screenshots captured during the live stream...
Jumping off from the Lost and Damned Team Deathmatch lobbies we created, players on PSN split up with us into seven teams, battling it out for 20 bloody minutes in Acter Industrial Park. Our own PlayRockstar1 showed how to have your teammate’s back, avenging PlayRockstar2’s death at the hands of Odaikabkab by sneaking up behind him and taking him down hard with a close-range shot to the back using a sawed off shotgun. RamzKilla, Worfare420 and Gremlin2in1 came out on top with the win at the end though with $10,350.
In our second game, 16 players loaded into LCPD police cars and hopped on motorcycles as a round of Witness Protection commenced. The prison transport bus, being driven by tompie9, immediately went for high ground and eluded The LOST at the start of the round. After ten full minutes and countless incoming shells, the N.O.O.S.E. bus eventually made it to its destination despite the best thwarting efforts of The LOST’s rogue bikers. The winning N.O.O.S.E. team included AmaaaZe, GhostX1984, morningskies808, Sentasi, tompie9, Odaikabkab, PatrykSWATA and dee-lan.

Next up, 16 players picked their Trucks of choice and headed into Race mode. Firing off the starting line of the track Down By The River, morningskies808 gained the first lead. Things got ugly at the first turn thanks to a twisted 12-vehicle pileup that blocked the intersection. PlayRockstar1, InsectOverlords, BennoBlue and morningskies808 were the only ones to make it through unscathed. In the end, morningskies808 came across the finish line with a 1st place victory and a time of 04:58:03.

(AmaaaZe, MCDrank, big_drum, WILL_I_AM_722, GhostX1984, gojeff99 and InsectOverlords compete for first place.)
We took to another round of Race on the track In The Bricks, in the last game of The Lost and Damned for the day. This time, the vehicle class of choice was Cars – with most players opting for the speedy Comet, and others choosing the SuperGT, the Sabre GT and the Sultan RS as their trusty steeds. What transpired was certainly one of the most heated matches of the day as the first place position was constantly changing hands between a number of people at different points in the race: first by Scheunentor, then Odaikabkab, then EL-OD_HuStLa, then Cheddary, then Mannion1988, then back to Scheunentor and finally back to Cheddary, the eventual hard-earned victor with a winning time of 04:49:37 in three laps. Props to you, sir.

(A ridiculously breakneck turn as Hayze, zeeshan810_gta, Scheunentor, Cheddary, tonyt3rry, Mannion1988, and PlayRockstar1 collide.)
Entering The Ballad of Gay Tony, we were still fired up for some racing and chose Sports Bikes, two laps and the track Tour D'Algonquin. About five minutes in, slamthepanda21 got his Wile E. Coyote on and set up a fire truck and a bus to block the race path. There were plenty of proverbial Roadrunners including our own PlayRockstar1 who eventually got out of his car and engaged in a knife-fight with slamthepanda21 for the rest of the race on an overpass in Algonquin. Congratulations to RamzKilla, for keeping a cool head and prevailing with a time of 09:10:24 and $1450.
Next we escaped to Funland for a round of Deathmatch with Episodes from Liberty City weapons in hand. With blips off, everyone had to constantly watch their backs as well as the rooftops of the many tightly-arranged buildings in the area theme park. Romanbellic707 whacked squamginer to start things off. Then jamievxr snuck up from behind and robbed romanbellic707 of the possibility of a killing streak. Taking advantage of the lack of blips, PlayRockstar1 was able to gun down Bishop-Love from behind. Things ended with InsectOverlords pistoling C_Bab_Sti, effectively giving InsectOverlords the win, just $64 ahead of 2nd place's squamginer.

(With blips off in Funland, C_Bab_Sti is stunned when PlayRockstar1 jumps down from a rooftop and starts shooting. Surprise!)
From there, we piled into APC tanks in GTA Race with four laps on the track Upper Junction. It was clear during the race that NOS was being used wisely by some and unwisely by others. Gotta make sure you know when the next turn is coming up before boosting! A few minutes into the race and still on the first lap, Sentasi's APC was flipped by big_drum and maddenprotege88, two players that used their NOS creatively to ram competitors. In the end, mullac2k9 claimed the victory with a time of 07:23:80.

(Sentasi's APC flips as big_drum, maddenprotege88, TrevelD, PlayRockstar1, WILLFU2 and PlayRockstar2 fight for 1st place.)
In what’s quickly become a fan-favorite ritual during Episodes sessions, we finished off with a grand finale of Free Mode. Friendly fire off. Absolute mayhem ensuing. And always a wild way to end an epic afternoon/evening of Grand Theft Auto multiplayer action.

(BennoBlue, MCDrank, PlayRockstar1 and PlayRockstar2 line up to base jump in Algonquin during our grand finale of Free Mode...)
