Official Grand Theft Auto Radio Playlists on Spotify and iTunes

Posted on April 11 2013, 1:13pm | Author: R* Q | Filed Under: Music, Games

As a service for all GTA fans on Spotify as well as for those who’d like to easily browse and find their favorite tracks from Grand Theft Auto radio history on iTunes, we’ve gone ahead and compiled the official set of playlists below, with tracks from all the music stations featured in Grand Theft Auto IV, Episodes from Liberty City, San Andreas, Vice City and more.

Please note that this is all the music from these stations that's currently available on each service – some songs don’t yet exist on either Spotify or iTunes, but we’re hoping to be able to add the original songs within our control where possible soon. And for those nostalgic for some of the commercials from these games, be sure to check out The Advertising Council repository if you haven't before - a proper collection of radio adverts from the archives of LC, VC and SA's historical radio dials...

About the GTA III, GTA VC & GTA SA re-releases on PS4.

"This title has been converted from THE ORIGINAL PlayStation®2 version to the PS4™ system. Consequently, there may be times where the title plays differently from the PlayStation®2 version, or where some features may not function properly. This version does not support PlayStation®2 peripherals, therefore some functionality may not be available" (PSN)

Now Y'all know that this aint true. My original copy of these games had more songs...
I dont even understand how can you touch a soundtrack of GTA SA or damn even GTA VC with that first hearing of Billie Jean on the radio just after the first cutscene...

Man these games are created by you guys, music always was a big part of the succes of your games.
Both soundtracks were so perfectly for that time the games were set in. This must hurted you, or atleast the original guys from the sound departement and it hurts me aswell. I am sure the old players the guys like me that expected to be sucked back into that vibe with the music we remembered. And the new gamers that play these games for the first time its diffrent now... its doesnt give the same impact without these songs.

How can we fix this?! I know it are licencing issues.
But there must be something, (Petitions/Money/... )I hope you atleast tried to get these into the re-releases of the games. If its money that you need for the extension of the licencing period then me and I am sure alot of other fans are happy to give you that in a form of DLC.

Just give us a bit more information about it and not re-releasing them like it were the ORIGINAL PS2 games, with a upgraded 1080p res. and trophy support...

Sorry for the negative post, but these are games close to my hearth.

@djezc420 i suppose there isnt any way u could pop the old radio on to the the new online version?
            • LethalLuggageon April 26 2015, 11:51pmReplyFlag
@djezc420 The only problem with that is that their licenses on the music probably ran out. They're simply providing this if you want to reminisce (or use it for Self Radio on the PC, after "buying" it from itunes.)

You got to add Rise FM for GTA III...

Those links don't work no more, neither on iTunes nor Spotify. Can you please fix that issue? I need those playlists. Why and where they've gone? Were they removed for some reason by one of the responsible companies? Or is that just an unexpectable error?

This is really helpful, because I played these games so often and always wanted to listen to the music outside of the games :) Thanks a lot R* for this!!!

This is awesome! I had already spent a lot of time recreating some of my favorite stations in Spotify, but this is a bit more convenientâ

@piofinn Hmm. My comment somehow got cut off.. I was suggesting you replace the 48-second version of "Act Like You Know" from Fever 105 with this full version:

@rowjack1993 Yeah, some tracks simply aren't yet available on Spotify and iTunes, but we’re hoping to add the original songs that are within our control in the future.

Can't seem to find any Rockstar stuff when I type it in on iTunes (iPad). The links don't work either. No worries though, I'm sure it's just a slight glitch.
                                • R* Yon April 21 2013, 10:53amReplyFlag
@PoppinToaster Which links? It's possible that it's a country issue with iTunes. Let us know.
