Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas Now Available for Download on PSN - Watch "The Introduction"

Posted on December 11 2012, 5:19pm | Author: R* Q | Filed Under: Games

As promised yesterday, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is now available to download from the PlayStation Store. The game is currently available at the PlayStation Store in North America, Europe and Australia.

To help prepare you to go back-back to SA, what better to watch than "The Introduction" - the original 20-minute prologue video that highlights the action in the days before the story in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas begins. The Introduction is told from various characters' viewpoints, which are intertwined together to reveal the network of organized crime forces operating throughout the state of San Andreas. Tension builds as threats are carried out, stakes are raised and communication breaks down. In Los Santos, a drive-by shooting in Grove Street Family's territory ignites a series of events to be further explored in the game.

And quite timely in the midst of our Vice City Anniversary celebrations, "The Introduction" also helps provide some insight into characters like Ken Rosenberg and Kent Paul who made the trip from Vice's sunny beaches in pursuit of fortune and fame in Los Santos in 1992. Watch "The Introduction" above or as a new entry added to our Videos section at www.rockstargames.com/videos.

Xbox 360 players can also get San Andreas from the Xbox LIVE Marketplace.

Hey everyone, San Andreas is now also available in Europe and Australia now that SCEE has published it's PlayStation Store update. If you can't see it on the store front then head to the 'Classic Game' or the 'Latest > New This Week' sections in PS Store and the game will be there.

Good to know, but does it mean it will be available for the PS4 too? B-cause I am low on PS knowledge, and I don't even know if the PS4 will have that store... I guess it will, but I also guess nobody knows much about the PS4 either! (ThmUliey Faith :)

To me it doesn't make fun playing this game which is very disappointing. It's because of the input delay. If I (for example) push square to jump it takes too much time until the player actually does. So am I the only one with this problem and/or is there a way to fix it? And the second thing is: Why does Sony create these prizes? I mean we Europeans always pay more than Americans because $ 9,99 isn't equal to 9,99€. I'm just saying...

VERY dissapointed with this. It took 2 whole days to download and then it looks blurry and plays on a tiny screen. Why this game isn't playable on HD, I have no idea. Most console users play in HD.

This is the first time Rockstar have let me down.

@Pinkie_Brown For best graphics on a widescreen TV, do this:
                          * In the in-game graphics menu select Widescreen On.
                          * Press the PS-button, and go to Other settings. Make sure Screen Mode is set to Full Screen, and Smoothing set to On.

(This also gives the best graphics for GTA 3 for PS3, plus you need to turn Trails Off in the in-game menu.)

I'm most likely being a bit dim here and missed something but I've downloaded San Andreas to my PS3 and when I run it, it plays in black and white. I use an old skool telly and just run off a standard scart lead. Not a problem with all my other PS3 games. Best way to describe it is that it's like when you play a Blu-Ray through a non HD telly.
Is there a way I can get the game to show in colour? There was nothing to suggest I needed an HD telly at the point of purchase, so I'm hopinng it's just a setup issue.
