Update and Screens from the Max Payne 3 Hostage Negotiation Pack DLC

Posted on October 2 2012, 2:10pm | Author: R* Q | Filed Under: Games

The new Filhos De Ogum faction battles it out against the U.F.E. in the all-new Favela Heights map from the Hostage Negotiation DLC Pack for Max Payne 3 Multiplayer.

Coming this fall, the Hostage Negotiation Map Pack DLC for Max Payne 3 will bring four new multiplayer maps into the fold - all specially designed for online action - along with a range of new Items and weapons plus the Filhos De Ogum avatar faction.

Protect yourself from explosive damage with the new Bomb Suit.

The Club Moderno and Estádio Do Galatians maps are being designed to deliver intense nightclub and stadium shootouts reminiscent of Max's earlier dust-ups with some of São Paulo's most dangerous elements like the Comando Sombra and the Crachá Preto.

Meanwhile, the O Palácio Strip Club and Favela Heights maps introduce to multiplayer all new, highly detailed favela territories from Max's descent into the gang-infested neighborhoods of the city.

Slow down your opponents' reload time with the new Intimidation Mask item.

The Hostage Negotiation Pack will also include two new weapons: the M24 Sniper Rifle and the IA2 Assault Rifle, the new Explosive Burst for explosive booby traps, the Bomb Suit item to protect against explosive damage and the Intimidation Mask item to cause slower reload times for your enemies.

The pack will be available later this fall for 800 Microsoft Points on Xbox LIVE or $9.99 on PlayStation Network and PC (Rockstar Pass owners of course will receive it, and all other future packs, free of charge).

Our apologies to Max Payne fans who've been waiting for this one and the other upcoming packs - we're working hard to bring you this and all the other DLC and should have a release date to announce for this next pack very soon. As a special thank you to all Max Payne 3 multiplayers for your support and patience, look for the release of an all-new chrome weapons bonus, which will be redeemable by all Social Club members free of charge. We'll have more info when the unlock becomes active later this week.

Downloaded the hostage negotiation pack and played it before realising they hadn't added the new achievements. I unlocked 2 of them (new moves and early adopter). The achievements have now been deleted from my list and I was unable to unlock the early adapter one. I have recovered my gt and it hasn't helped. Anyone got any helpful suggestions?

    Thanks all.

@Demon_00_uk Please contact Support.Team@rockstargames.com so they can help figure that out for you. Sorry to hear that happened.

@ I've already done this but they have passed the buck to xbox. Funnily enough xbox said its not their fault and to contact the makers of the game as its their fault.

Some of us still have jobs here but would like to be able to get this content regarrdless! Are these masks going to be available on tthe marketplace? What is wrong with people ? Do you think rockstar owe you something or what ? Man, looking at most of those comments made me so uncomfortable, that's unreal. Just wait til the release of the DLC, I don't get why people are upset (I mean apart the rockstar pass thing, that, I can understand), rockstar is working hard to satisfy the community and no one seems to care. I think the game is great, I just love it, and I'm reallly excited about the upcoming DLC and all the little things they added.
            • MONSTRO1988on October 21 2012, 1:31pmReplyFlag
@Xarnok the Rockstar Pass, that IS the whole point. We were, each of us, dooped into paying extra money for DLC that has all been either extremely behind schedule, just wound-up free anyway or canceled completely!
            • Xarnokon October 22 2012, 11:38amReplyFlag
@MONSTRO1988 Thanks , I can see why it is irritating, I guess I didn't really think this through when I posted my comment. The reactions seems legitimate in that case.

So if this DLC is a month late. Should we expect the others to be late as well?

              @ReturnOfSatchmo s'pect so...

@ReturnOfSatchmo The timeline for DLC releases has shifted back a bit, and we'll have more information on the last two packs after this one as soon as we're prepared to do so. Hope you guys are excited about the new content!

@ We're excited for it to hurry-up and BE HERE! maybe Rockstar doesn't pay attention or even care what the consumers are saying around the loading screens, but one thing a company should NOT do is let a presceduled DLC run over a month behind, then finally get it done and ready for launch, but choose to to add a further 2 weeks to the release date when we could be playing it RIGHT NOW! You just HAD to milk it, didn't ya? You couldn't just appologize and let us have what we payed for 6 months ago without aone last chance at a little advertisment, could ya? 2 more weeks and, oh gee whiz, you wound-up having to push back the rest of the DLC too, huh? Who saw THAT coming? Someone at your office needs to stand-up and say, "F*ck the Rockstar Confidentiality Policy BS, we're sitting here f*cking over our own loyal fan base, keeping them in the dark and offering nothing in return for their patience besides 'we shall get to it our earliest conveniance' and this is wrong!" just plain dispicable, when you've f*cked-up this bad you don't deserve to play it cool, you should be begging our forgivness, letting us download it immediately and assuring us that future DLC will be expodited post haste - get your act together, stop walking all over paying customers and long time fans!

@R*: any news regarding this, already late, dlc? is the rank reset some members are experiencing the cause for delay of the hostage negotiation pack?
              • PH4NTOM4Son October 16 2012, 3:35amReplyFlag
At least you should give out some goodies for Rockstar pass owners. Releasing a free DLC and then lacking hard on paid DLC is like a slap in the face. Get your employees together and focus them working on MP3 and put everything else on hold. Thats what good companies would do.

So, what's the latest, guys? Can we expect any good news on Tuesday? By the way, yall wouldn't appologize 10,000x for this DLC being so late and then make a "big announcement" on the Social Club only to say that the new DLC is "ready to launch... in a week's time!" would you? After all this time and all the previous let downs yall are pretty much just going to release it straight away, right? come on, don't keep us in the dark here!
                    • PH4NTOM4Son October 16 2012, 3:14amReplyFlag
@MONSTRO1988 i doubt it. They will keep up with their excuses for another week or two then annouce the DLC for mid November. By that timeline the last DLC will prolly be out in January. Shame on you R*

@DiE_OR_FiGHT totally, I was just literally losing my mind over this situation... sleep, tio. Good idea though? I like it for a 4:30am rage-post!
                      • MONSTRO1988on October 13 2012, 5:36amReplyFlag
Alright, now I'm just bored. How about this idea (for Max Payne 4, presumably) instead of bonking dudes over the head or kicking them in the shins, which doesn't always work, how about you keep those moves for story characters, but faction characters get unique melee weapons?

                        Example:
                        SPP - nightsticks, obviously
UFE - telescopic batons, because they're like SPP 2.0
De Marcos - switch blades, cause they're punk *ss kids
Punchinellos - baseball bats, classic Max Payne (why isn't Murry "The Bat" Niagra a Deathmatch character?!)
Tropa Z - crowbars, maybe? a pipewrench? something that looks scrounged, spur of the moment...
Commando Sombra - K.Bar Knives or V.Tac Tomahawks, to match their "surplus army" armor scheme
                        Cracha Preto - machettes, duh!
                        • MONSTRO1988on October 13 2012, 5:13amReplyFlag
...ugh, Rockstar this is taking FOREVER :-( can't one of your interns at least knock together a tantilizing YouTube video demonstrating the new guns and bomb suit, etc. perhaps with the Filhos de Ogum doing the demo? You're loosing us fast, bro - my crew membership is at an all time low, you could say and Borderlands 2 ain't helping your case any. Seriously, is it out yet? No need to wait till Tuesday when it's this far gone - come on!
