On August 30th, we bid farewell to our summer season of Social Club Multiplayer Events with an epic, all-day doubleheader featuring back-to-back sessions of both Grand Theft Auto IV and Max Payne 3 Multiplayer across all three platforms. First up, congratulations are due to the winners of our sweepstakes who have earned themselves Rockstar Prize Packs with limited-edition collectibles and official gear. The GTAIV winners were richard_hung-lo, MicBlaze, Andy315x, Skankasaurus and JasonDeadly, and our Max Payne 3 winners were thedutchpitbull, Jinxyman, VoiD88, TheCloven and PaynePillPopper.

We began the day in our haunt of Liberty City, with four Rockstar Devs out in full force, taking on all comers in various game modes. GwRockstar2 set it off on Xbox LIVE with a Deathmatch at the Docks. Our Dev got up close and personal with a knife and had moderate success with this surprising tactic against R3tardedLi0n69 and Ne0nDarkness16. ORIGINAL SMOKEY proved a tough competitor however, wasting us in successive shootouts. In a vengeful rage, GwRockstar2 turned to using trusty molotov cocktails to burn the place down.

From there, we entered into the seedy biker underworld of The Lost And Damned. In a GTA Race around Algonquin on PSN, Mr Okra managed to hitch a ride with PlayRockstar until explosive rockets from a bitter competitor killed two birds with one stone. Later on in Hove Beach, PlayRockstar emerged victorious from a tense Deathmatch, using a battered Presidente in combination with an Assault Shotgun to take down pluskinkajou47 and NorthBrothers amongst others. Full credit to SubZeroo55 who came in second despite matching PlayRockstar in kills while having less deaths. Only a $200 surplus would decide the match for PlayRockstar. Congratulations are also due to djthegamer988 who racked up 16 kills playing as a member of the NOOSE, protecting a witness from the clutches of GwRockstar3 and other members of The Lost. By way of comparison, not one member of the biker gang managed anything more than a single kill.

Then in The Ballad Of Gay Tony, the supercars took to the cross roads of Star Junction, careening their way around the tight turns of mid-town Algonquin in a GTA Race. PlayRockstar's yellow Infernus managed to sneak his way into third on the final lap after someone conveniently parked an oil tanker in front of the central tunnels. Using Nitro on the long straight was enough to put them within touching distance of 1st; but nichi95 was waiting at the final corner to blast PlayRockstar, giving himself crucial seconds to take the checkered flag. Entering into Free Mode, PlayRockstar took to the skies in a Buzzard with Back_yard_digin2 as his co-pilot. A vicious dogfight ensued in the airspace above the Statue Of Happiness as SubZero55 and holm17 boarded their 'copters and opened fire with the cannons. With the engine on fire, PlayRockstar was forced to bail out.

Thanks to longtime community member and event participant FugetSudoJr for providing the awesomely edited video highlights above, and be sure to have a look at over two and a half hours of event video below, captured courtesy of the ever-reliable GM-Shenmue. YouTube's gussi111 also posted an impressive winning performance against GwRockstar4 in a firetruck from a GTA Race.

In the Social Club playlist on Max Payne 3 later that day, we introduced two new game modes to the event: Last Man Standing, and Last Team Standing, as well as the game of cunning and skill, Payne Killer. After the release of the FREE Disorganized Crime Pack DLC for all Max Payne 3 players, we also took the occasion to inaugurate the new Hoboken Rooftops level which requires agility and a keen trigger finger to triumph. Playing on Xbox LIVE, RockstarDev4 scored a victory during a Last Man Standing in the Branco Headquarters and then won a Last Team Standing on the Hoboken Rooftops with a well-timed grenade in the corridors outside Max's apartment. Credit due to riekNbook on Dev4's team who took 6 Kills for 0 deaths during the entire game.

Props to the Expendables Elite Crew for showing up in force during our event, particularly Crew leader LSXxxd3anoxx who held his own in a game of Last Man Standing against event regular AQUAMAN REBIRTH. Dev4 also picked out Ovol PLAYBOYloVo for dual-wielding Sawn Offs to spectacular effect: Ovol PLAYBOYloVo went 100% in a Last Team Standing on the Hoboken Rooftops, including taking the decisive kill in the final round. Over on PC, Social Club members came up against our MaxPayneDev1 rocking the Rockstar Games emblem on helmet and flak jacket. On the Hoboken Rooftop, Evilinkoff proved just why he has now topped out two event leaderboards in a row with a superlative performance, winning three of five rounds of Last Man Standing. Incredibly, this wasn't enough to beat Bobo_The_Clown who took 1st place having died three less times. Thick competition.

The tight corners and abundance of cover in the Branco Headquarters lent itself well to the Last Man Standing game mode. In consecutive rounds, MaxPayneDev1, dual-wielding an M10 and PT92 went on two 3X kill streaks to rack up a 6-kill lead. After an early death in the fourth round, our Dev watched relative newcomers zand3ri and Nemyyy play a game of cat and mouse, until a sneak Melee kill took the round for zand3ri. Despite another early exit in the fifth round, MaxPayneDev1 held on for a 13 to 10 victory.

Additionally, joining us in person that day on the Rockstar Rooftop and on our official Twitch stream were a few of our NYC-area friends and fans. A great time was had shooting up the Hoboken Rooftops with blogger @Terry_Mcfly, YouTube commentator @hard8times, Brooklyn photographer @Beanzisgood4u, and music producer / DJ @manik_nyc. Extra special thanks to the inimitable HARD8TIMES, the leader of The Social Rejects Crew and always an entertaining commentator on YouTube, for coming out all the way from Philly and joining us early to get busy on GTAIV PC - and also to Terry McFly for documenting it all on his site.
