Download “Hoboken Blues”: Issue #2 of the Max Payne 3 Original Comic Produced by Marvel

“Hoboken Blues”, the second chapter in the Max Payne 3 comic series produced by Marvel, is now available to read in its entirety and additionally downloadable as a PDF at www.rockstargames.com/maxpayne3/comics.
Written by Dan Houser and Remedy's Sam Lake, and featuring cover art by Jorge Molina with pencils and inks by Fernando Blanco, “Hoboken Blues” is loaded with flashbacks to Max's past that help to explain how and why he's at where he's at in Max Payne 3, including the fallout from his actions in Max Payne 2 that led to him becoming a semi-permanent fixture at a dive bar on the other side of the Hudson.

- on June 17 2012, 4:19pmThank you R* for giving us another excellent Max Payne comic. That fact that you decided to put it out for free shows that you are not trying to gain profit like every other video game company. I always wanted to know how Max met Michelle and you guys delivered in such a way that it only took two or three pages to explain. Also, I was very pleased with how you included Max's relationship with Balder and Chief Bravura. On the first game, Bravura was depicted as a detective who wanted to bring down Max Payne because he thought he was a madman who killed his wife, daughter, and best friend. Bravura's attitude towards Max was also a little harsh on Max Payne 2 as well. This comic and the first one demonstrate a lighter side to Bravura and shows his respect for Max, which was not really seen in either game. I really enjoyed learning more about Max Payne's past as well as the events that transpired during significant gaps in the game's story. For the next comic, maybe you can depict Max and Passos' time in the police academy together. The reason I say this is because in MP3, Max did not remember ever meeting Passos, which the former attributes to his alcoholism over the years, so it was left unclear whether or not they really met in the academy. Anyway, you guys are the greatest hands down! Thank you again R*!
on June 19 2012, 4:08pm@EmmBrant Thank you for the kind words and great feedback. Stay tuned for Issue #3!- on June 20 2012, 10:34am@EmmBrant SPOILERS:
Passos was lying, his family forced him to find a drunken "dumb gringo" through guilt to take a few bullets and take some attention off the family, thus enter Max Payne, too out of his mind to know any different.
Also, Rockstar. Sam Lake.. Remedy. I LOVE YOU ALL SO VERY, VERY MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And Sam Lake, my God man, I.d spend my life to have the mind it would take to create the likes of Alan Wake and Max Payne, Remedy and Rockstar are the only companies I need, I swear to God!!

- on June 14 2012, 4:17pmRockstar first off I want to let you know how great it is to see a Max Payne comic series, I know I have told you that before but it is just so great to see it come to life! Second I want to acknowledge what TheBearPaw has been noticing this past year, I know Max Payne is not your original creation so I understand a few minor hiccups here and there, but like the TheBearPaw said about this issue Alex Balder is drawn with hair during his time of death, us die hard Payne fans have a hard time accepting a mess up like that...
It is not a big deal too many but to us it is disheartening, because you guys of all people are known for your amazing attention to detail. As a game company there is no one out there that even comes close to how amazing you are with your minor details.
I am not here to disrespect your guys work, I am just simply wanting Max Payne to stay true to its roots...
Thank you for reading
- on June 15 2012, 3:25pm@NYPDMAXPAYNE facepalm

- on June 13 2012, 11:29pmWhy don't u sell physical copies of this?? i hate that u are giving them away at random. I want to own actual copies and refuse to read them till i have them in my hand. I'm a collector kind of guy and i don't like digital stuff.

- on June 13 2012, 8:17pmThx good read again nice work was worth the wait and great follow up to the 1st issue.Shows how much the story transcends the game Scorsese would be jealous.
on June 13 2012, 7:11pm@RamboWitAmmo We haven't made any announcements about doing that, but thanks for suggesting
- on June 13 2012, 4:43pmIt's amazing the amount of detail you guys go into when you release a game. From comics to Max's Hawaiin shirt as merchandise and mixed tapes, you guys sure know how to please your audience and show how much you care about your work. I think that other game companies like EA and Activision should take a leaf out of your book!
Thanks,
A long time R* fan (even when i was a kid,lol)- on June 13 2012, 8:20pm@GoodCatholicBoy Real talk R puts in that extra effort and passion others lack.Where that hawaiin shirt at own risk it rocks in game but it might be a woman magnet or repellent in real life.
- on June 14 2012, 4:01am@Walnutty Nah, I won' wear the Hawaiin Shirt, Just keep it, as merchandise. :P
