PLEASEOHPLEASEOHPLEASE! bring RDR to the PC as well. THis game looks amazing both visually and in terms of gameplay and the old West as a game setting rocks! Even my dad wants to play this game bad, we don't own a console, sunk a lot of money into great PC gaming setups and this game would be great on the PC. I don't want to have to sell a leg or two to get a PS3 to play this, but everytime I check out stuff about RDR I soil myself in some manner! This needs to stop, I MUST have this game for the PC.

Also...please sneak in some Eyefinity support so I can enjoy the sweetness of RDR on triple monitor setup, that would probably be so awesome it will scar me for life, but it's a scar I will proudly bear!

Thank god there is Rockstargames. There is so much epic stupidity in the games industry it's just so refreshing to have you guys make things better and less stupid all the time.

It's like watching a bunch of d***less chickens running around with their heads cut off sometimes man. But you guys save the f***ing day. :D

"Rockstar is here to save the f***ing day! Rockstar is here! La la la!" Thats my new song. :p

I am just curious , but does the fact that john marston and red harlow have the same scars means something , because everybody likes to hope for sequels , so is it just coincidence , homage , or did red change his name ? i assume not the later considering red was part indian........

You should make some ps3 exclusive DLCs for when RDR comes out.

Pre-order if you want to support Rockstar people. Your directly adding to the total sold, very important for everyone here.

You know, most consumers don't realize how much credit this game should get for its graphics.

A lot of the linear games out there that look graphically amazing don't need real-time lighting/shadows on the environment, because levels are always at an intended time of the day. So what artists do is they pre-render/pre-bake the lighting onto texture maps for use on the models. This could take quite some time to calculate as far as I know, and is often not done in the game engine - but with rendering software such as vRay, purelight and whatnot.

However, Red Dead has a day ---ht cycle (I think), so it's pretty dynamic - and therefore have to use real-time lighting . Looking at these shots, they look pretty impressive for real-time lighting. Unlike pre-baked lighting, it could be very expensive to calculate everything at say 30 times per second, and therefore slows down like we've seen with GTA IV PC at its initial release. But the videos released so far looks smooth enough, of course understanding it doesn't have all these buildings that needs calculation.

So the development of Red Dead Redemption means a lot to the future of games developed with the RAGE engine, e.g. GTA. Of course, with GTA - you have a lot more going on in the environment - numerous buildings, cars, peds etc. - but I'm sure we'll see some neat advances come GTA next.

Look at the detail on those screenshots. Even though its only a few months of, I can't wait for this game. It looks like GOTY winner.
