We received a ton of fan inquiries regarding the powerful music heard in the recent official trailer for Max Payne 3, and today we're proud to reveal the artists responsible. Los Angeles-based rock band HEALTH are currently in the process of composing for both the score and soundtrack to the game, as revealed on music website Pitchfork.com today.

"Video games are redefining entertainment and whether people like it or not, they are becoming as culturally relevant as films,” said the band's Jake Duzsik. “We feel that Rockstar’s projects have an undeniably raw and tasteful aesthetic. It's vitally important to us that we be involved in things we respect artistically. Max Payne 3 has a complex story that unfolds mercilessly and we are excited to be a part of it."

HEALTH's distinctive style perfectly suits Max's dark story, and the band went to great lengths to ensure that unique sounds and motifs were used to represent each specific locale featured in the game. In addition to composing the dynamic in-game score, HEALTH is creating exclusive songs for the game’s forthcoming soundtrack (which you can get as part of the Special Edition package).

Look for announcements of more soundtrack details - including contributions from some of Brazil's own, and behind the scenes information about the music's creation - here at the Newswire very soon.

sincerely, it's a bad quality, sertanejo, with stupid lyrics music that people with poor culture here listen to.
It's a shame for our contry, please!

I just saw the commercial featuring HEALTH's song tonight, and I am now obsessed with it. I came here and signed up for an account just to ask if the soundtrack will be available on iTunes. Please let it be so.

I saw HEALTH live when they were supporting Crystal Castles in the UK and was lucky to meet and speak to the band after the show, they were really nice guys! I got Jake Duzsik & John Famiglietti to sign their DISCO2 vinyl which is instantly now more valuable to me! Thank-you Rockstar & HEALTH for collaborating!

Hey Rockstar, since you guys are talking about music in brazil, I live near there and it's been a mega hit for a while called Bosa ai si eu te pego from Michel Telo, I suggest you guys this song, and get some good groups, like HEALTH, hope you see this and appreciate it.

I'm not too sure about this. I've never heard of HEALTH before to be completely honest. I asked about this not too long ago, but the one thing that I'm really hoping for that these guys live up to Kartsy Hatakka and Kimmo Kajasto original work from the previous Max Payne games. Well, I'll still be looking forward to hearing more info about it soon!

Health has a very gritty pop gaming electronic sound. I personally love the beat on the trailer, I hope it carries this same dark, and pulse wrenching feel through the game. It should compliment just fine with another artist from Brasil. ;)
