Explore L.A. Noire's Crime Scenes and Compare with VR Photos of the Same Spot in L.A. Today with the 360° Viewer

Posted on June 28 2011, 1:07pm | Author: R* Q | Filed Under: Games

The in-game world of L.A. Noire is a faithful recreation of such areas of Los Angeles' city grid as Downtown and Hollywood, according to meticulously researched street maps and aerial photography of how they appeared and existed in 1947. So all of the game's crimes, many of which were inspired by true occurrences from one of the most violent years in L.A.'s history, are all staged at real locations with corresponding geography that still exists today.

With the 360° Crime Scene Viewer embedded above, you can explore full 360-degree views of some of the game's outdoor crime scenes, including "Buyer Beware" and "A Marriage Made in Heaven" - then compare them by toggling to see a perspective from the same location as it stands now in real life Los Angeles, as captured by a VR photographer who traveled to the same spot for us to see how it looks today.

To see the full size version of the viewer along with related screenshots from some of these crimes, check out the Crime Scene Viewer Feature Page on the L.A. Noire official website.

I'd love to know if the "Signal Hill" from the White Shoes Murder was based on Signal Hill in Long Beach. Visually, it looks like a match, but I'm not familiar with any parks with oil derricks so close to downtown LA....

I like LA. Noire I like it alot but what also fun was if you COULD see some of the celebrities walking on the streets in the game like John Wayne, Clark Gable and not to forgot Marilyn Monroe and lots of more of these celebrities in those day's(YEAR).
But i must say that you *R and Team Bondi did a great thing here with this game and with al what you now let us see like the 360° Viewer

Your The Best ***Rockstar*** and not forget Team Bondi

yeah, the cases are really long - some cases are that boring that I nearly fall asleep - but no worries R*, doesn't mean that it is a bad game - it's a good game but in another way as it is RDR or GTA IV for example :DD
                                keep the DLC coming

It is amazing how locations change throughout the decade.
For it is not time that make then change,
It is only man who change them through the decade.

                                      And as we look back,
                                      At the locations original pride.
                                      We only see its history
                                      In a book or library...

Yes I LIKE THIS 360° Viewer i had finisht the game LA. Noire 100% i have found all film reels and badges and done all the DLC 100% on my XBOX so i drive now true LA to see and discover everything what whe can see and find (So this 360° Viewer is then also great with some more cases to see the diverent's) but i'am now going to do a new game of LA.
