In honor of L.A. Noire, we are proud to announce a special collaboration with Mulholland Books and eight of the thriller genre's best writers, L.A. Noire: The Collected Stories - a brand new anthology of original short fiction inspired by the world of the game itself.
L.A. Noire: The Collected Stories features eight short stories from renowned authors Megan Abbott, Lawrence Block, Joe Lansdale, Joyce Carol Oates, Francine Prose, Jonathan Santlofer, Duane Swierczynski and Andrew Vachss, many of which revisit the characters and cases in the game, providing a new spin to tell the tales of emotionally torn protagonists, depraved schemers and ill-fated victims - with new stories appearing on the L.A. Noire official site leading up to and through the May 17th release of L.A. Noire. The complete collection will be made available for digital download on June 6th through all major eBook retailers.
Today, you can read an excerpt from our first release, “The Girl” by award-winning writer Megan Abbott - as a downloadable PDF or via our online reader at www.rockstargames.com/lanoire/stories. Enjoy and look for full length stories to be released very soon.

R* - Please give us REAL BOOKS WITH REAL PAGES, INK and an OLD STYLE 40's/50's BOOKS lookalike paper style (yellow/used pages look, old style inks, colors - Or : No colors !! Only Black and white !! and a B & W Graphic Novel(s) !!
You guys definitely have the artists to do it...
The original artworks for the game are stunning, but there ARE still people that actually read from paper and ink
Anyway, do ye not think that a real good ''noir story'' should be put in a computer or on an old fashioned real book?? it would just be common sense to make these storys of ''noire'' in a old style way, wake up,
if ye really made the game and its storys because ye thought people would appreciate the old-style noir storys of the 40's then surley then you are clever enough to realise that the ONLY way to release these storys should be with REAL BOOKS....... seriously if ye cant see that then ye are just stupid, and have absolutly no passion for the game/story ye just made, there is no way anyone who appreciates the noir story will buy it on e-book, they would prefere realistic style old paper and ink books. thats why people love this game,,, not for the computer its played rather the storys
R* - Please give us Graphic Novel(s) in the near future!! You guys definitely have the artists to do it...lets have a Noire comic series!!! I mean the original artworks for the game are stunning! Sure, I understand with the popularity of smartphones, pads, and tablets right now, you'd be crazy not to have eBooks, but there ARE still people that actually read from paper and ink ;-)
I think a non-PDF collector's set of LA Noire Graphic Novels would be a huge hit..I'd buy 2 for sure. One would go to my moms (she loves reading anything Noire, but give her a smart phone and I start to feel bad lol)
Fantastic work on the game though Rockstar, its one in a million, except its missing one thing... GTA's old Right stick First person view, would be majorly handy for crime scenes! sometimes feels a bit silly investigating a crime scene in 3rd person trying to angle the camera up and down to find clues.
Less than two weeks to go!
