Because It's Friday: Gene Krupa "Sing, Sing, Sing"

Posted on April 29 2011, 3:04pm | Author: R* Q | Filed Under: Games, Music

In honor of the last days of Jazz Appreciation Month, we present the legendary Gene Krupa performing “Sing Sing Sing” with the Benny Goodman band - a classic and a perfect musical interlude to take us into the weekend.

Stay tuned for details on the soundtrack for L.A. Noire coming very soon.

Some other #JazzAppreciationMonth shouts we've given on Twitter this week in case you missed them:
Ella Fitzgerald's "Stone Cold Dead in the Market"
Louis Jordan's "Ain't Nobody Here But Us Chickens"

@Noir1948 We answered these questions in the Rockstar Recommends comments, but will also do so here:

    1. L.A. Noire is designed very differently from our other, more open-world focused games like Red Dead Redemption and Grand Theft Auto. While the world itself is fully open to explore, the focus is on working the crime scene locations and cases in order to work your way up the ranks. Occasionally while on a case, you will hear street crimes or “unassigned cases” come in over the radio, offering you a chance to assist in a nearby bank robbery or purse snatching.

    2. As for harming civilians, while it is possible on occasion to hurt an innocent citizen, it’s not something a good detective is rewarded for-- running over a pedestrian while on a case or causing public damage or harm will lower your end-of-case rating.

    3. Detectives are plain-clothes officers who’ve earned the right to ditch the uniform. By the time Cole has reached the rank of detective, the former war hero and patrolman has had his fair share of wearing uniforms. He’s happy to be in a proper suit and hat!

That music was composed by Louis Prima, the king of swing, and i prefer the original version, is much better.

Here's a question for LA Noire:

Will there be a DLC case called "The Hacked PSN Hullaballo?"

Hey R*. I love everything you guys have done with L.A. Noire so far. The different crime desks. The off story missions like bag snatchers, suicide jumpers and bank robbers. But i just have three questions.

1:Will there be "Strangers" all over L.A.?

2:Can we harm civilians? What will be the consequences? Will it effect our overall score at the end of each case?

3:Will we be able to wear our Police uniform even after we have been promoted to a detective?

Thank you guys so much! I can't wait for May 17!

@JohnyCrane Yes, you can change your outfit, but you must first have made detective. You can access it from the "Outfits" option in the pause menu.

@johnyCrane they haven't released much on if you can change costumes but preorder's on the game(excluding gamestops preorder) are giving you alternate costumes so you probably will be able to change costumes in the game but like Red Dead you will most likely have to unlock them. As for the map they are giving you the entire city of L.A. Also like Red Dead there will be small objectives in the city that you can take part in.

i'm so glad that they are making a crime game that is more story driven than GTA and i'm happy about the soundtrack hooray for Gene Krupa. and don't get me wrong i love GTA but i just think that a game where you have to think would be better than just walking around shooting everything you see and stealing cars. but seriously the soundtrack looks fantastic
