Life And Crime in 1947 Los Angeles: Latest L.A. Noire Interviews and Previews from IGN, Fast Company & More

Check out the latest exclusive previews of this spring's L.A. Noire from around the web and around the world.
To help set the scene, IGN have an exclusive interview with Team Bondi's Brendan McNamara about the state of Los Angeles in 1947, a city transformed by social and industrial change in the wake of World War II, and endemic police corruption:
"Los Angeles has a long and checkered history of boosters and corruption. Mayor Frank L Shaw used the citywide Vice Squad as bag men for collecting his cut from many nefarious activities taking place around the city. The last straw came for Los Angelenos when LAPD Captain Earl Kynette placed a bomb in the car of corruption investigator Harry Raymond. Raymond survived the blast and at the trial Kynette alleged that his orders came from City Hall. Later, Mayor Shaw's administration was implicated in over a thousand illegal betting and prostitution rackets, often - it was claimed - under the protection of the LAPD.
It wasn't until the appointment of former Internal Affairs head William H Parker in 1950 that the real work of weeding out the corruption within the LAPD would begin. Parker's most famous quote when referring to police corruption was, "We'll always have cases like this because we have one big problem in selecting police officers ... we have to recruit from the human race."

Fast Company took a deeper look at Motion Scan, with Brendan explaining exactly why the MotionScan process is so unusual:
"MotionScan has made the post-production process become much more streamlined and efficient. The technology directly transfers the actor's performance into the game engine, so very little post-processing work is needed. That means we can free up artists and designers to focus on other aspects of the game, as well as pay more attention to fine-tuning things from a storytelling standpoint."

While Paste Magazine explores the balance between interrogation and action:
"The level of action varies greatly from case to case. Many cases are solvable without the need for violence. For example, instead of pulling out his gun and shooting a fleeing suspect, Phelps can fire a warning shot that stops the person in their tracks. Other times, Phelps has little choice but to roll up his sleeves and pursue justice using deadly force. It becomes a balancing act between introducing players to a radically different type of gameplay and also maintaining a level of comfort and familiarity."

For all the people asking for multiplayer, you need to STOP. Rockstar and Team Bondi are delivering a groundbreaking single player game and if you can't get over that you can go back to call of duty.
R* - ya need to break into Sony and kidnap these guys..for real!! (just joking that'd be illegal)
I suppose roaming the map online with friends would be fun, but what else would there be to do? It's not necessary in my opinion.
So bring it to me, i need it
Rumours are not valid without evidence (links to pages?) so i wouldn't get your hopes up. Having said that i think your co-op idea is fantastic. I would love to see co-op cases. They could add more for DLC every so often.
It would be great, sitting in the police headquarters sifting through evidence while your friend/ friends (4 player co-op?) searches for clues, tailing suspects/leads etc. Great idea SirSmok3Alot225. I hope they take this on board.
Great job R* and Team Bondi of course :)

Dear Rockstar,
Using the latest version of Google Chrome, scrolling while zoomed in this website is so slow.]
***i'm using Chrome on my laptop, PC, and android......has been working fine for me, before and after this post! But worth checking out i'd imagine***
and c'mon @RealGingerMan -- Im not gonna say that they're not gonna do that, but as it's not a bug i doubt it...you know the saying, "if it aint broke dont fix it"..i dunno if you just bought Red Dead, which is one of my favorite games ever, but Id imagine you're beating a dead horse here...i think they've cranked out all they plan on cranking out for it (which was a sh!t load lmao)....C'mon LA NOIRE!! Now that's somethin to get all hyped up about.
Fan-based A&A next please!!!
^^Big Q on my mind..and if you dont like it shhh please its only my opinion..:
"Can we expect to see a form of Multiplayer?", with all the rumors it's KILLIN me!!
-I personally say no to Free Roam bang-bang lobbies full of COD & Halo fanboys itching to let loose open-world, but I realize how many people love GTA4's Party Modes & such..(i even enjoy simply riding the streets without any action, other than my maniacal homicidal driving!)....but I think for LA Noire, which in no way shape of form is like GTA, there needs to be a mature MP mode. Honestly I think something co-op would be the best bet..having an interesting, engaging co-op is a key thing in todays titles that have MP.
-So if you do have MP, i think we should be able to transition right in from the story and pick up basically where we left off. You and your buddies stroll throughout LA looking for clues and suspects, based on the case files you picked up at the headquarters...interrogations would be tricky, but if it couldnt be a joint interrogation at least you and your team members could swap info and evidence they've gathered, share notes and work together to develop new leads and eventually get the arrest warrant for your guy!!! Then an action packed take-down..I dunno, the possibilities for this and other game modes are endless..and very fun to imagine.
-I think it could be done, and should be done. New case files could be uploaded at your discretion or even give you guys DLC options..i dunno but I think it'd be a shame to see this game go back on the shelf after I've thoroughly beaten it several times lol...either ways you've got yourselves a banger with this one!! Im simply drooling. Showed my girl the trailer last ---ht and I think I've (you've?) created a monster...a strangely sexy nerdy monster..thanks!
