Tutorial Clip #1 of 9: An Introduction to Beaterator

After you’ve gotten your hands on Beaterator for PSP, and made some quick jams on the fly using the facile Live Play mode, you’ll want to start challenging yourself by diving into the Studio Mode composition areas to make your own original song completely from scratch.  You can get as intricate as you like, from simple loop layering in Studio Session, to drum pattern creation in Drum Crafter, to more advanced elements like the Synth Editor and Effects panel.

To help you learn and master these composition modes, we’ve posted a series of 9 Demo Tutorial Videos covering the following areas: Introduction to Beaterator, Song Crafter, Studio Session, Drum Crafter, Melody Crafter, Sound Editor, Studio Controls, Effects and the Synth Editor.

Get on with it – just make sure we get a shout in your liner notes…

This Beaterator iphone/ ipod touch app is dollar for dollar one of the best "music production" (I use the term loosely) programs you can buy, no doubt about it. I don't know if it is an introductory price since it just came out, but for $5, you definitely cannot get more features or flexibility and it seems potentially very useable once you get the hang of the layout/ interface. It was easily the longest download/ install from the App Store out of all 5 pages worth of my apps so it definitely has a good deal of heft and content/ loops, etc. It is immediate fun as soon as you fire it up..The only problem I am having with it is a pretty serious one, unfortunately. On my 2nd gen 32GB ipod touch, whether the audio is going through my headphones, my home stereo or the built in speaker, there is a significant and unacceptable amount of distortion and muddiness to the overall sound. If this is common to all ipods and iphones, they really need to release a patch right away because, although it seems like a fun and nice program (and you can't beat the price) but with crap sound, it isn't even fun to play with, much less any good for any kind of projects or saving. Anyone else who has the app, can you please let me know whether this problem applies to you or not? I'd like to see if it is common enough to warrant some swift patching on Rockstar/ Timbaland's part. iphone/ ipod owners, please chime in.. Thanks!
