Part two of our music reveals from the exclusive soundtrack of Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars for PSP brings us a special selection from the label credited with reigniting New York's dance-punk scene, and the guys behind the twice Grammy-nominated band LCD Soundsystem: DFA Records.
Founded in 2001 by James Murphy, Tim Goldsworthy and Jonathan Galkin, DFA have had a constant string of successes, starting with their initial signing of Grand Theft Auto IV soundtrack guests The Rapture through to the successes of LCD Soundsystem's two albums and singles including "Daft Punk Is Playing At My House" and "Get Innocuous" (also found on the soundtrack to Grand Theft Auto IV).
With a modern twist on the influences of early 80's bands that blended dance music and rock such as Talking Heads, Blondie and New Order, DFA is currently home to such bands as The Juan Maclean, Holy Ghost! and Yacht. Meanwhile, in between LCD Soundsystem shows, James Murphy and Tim Goldsworthy are succesful touring DJ's in their own right. Same reason sony came out with a slim ps3 so soon (but reversed). No one was willing to buy a ps3 because competition started rumours of a PS3 slim: "I'm waiting!" Sony was forced to provide that model or "sink" (not so dramatically perhaps)
it's that sort of thing. It's the same reason they won't yet tell you that SFLC is coming to PC AND PS3.
MS paid for exclusive DOWNLOADABLE content, not exclusive EPISODES. So, while they sell a whole bunch of these, a few months down the road, you will be able to buy it on other platforms, just not download it.
Moral of the story: Just wait, nothing is exclusive.
