Junior Systems Administrator

Rockstar is looking for an enthusiastic, talented and technical Junior Systems Administrator to join our San Diego based IT group. Applicants will be highly motivated and organized, able to work as part of a team, while also possess the ability to work without supervision. We work in a fast paced environment which is also a great match for applicants interested in games.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide IT support for fast- paced publishing and development operation by diagnosing and resolving various hardware and software issues on Windows and MacOS workstations.
  • Work with Developers to troubleshoot issues with game pipeline and tools.
  • Troubleshoot basic problems with video game industry software such as Photoshop, 3D Studio Max, Maya, Perforce and Visual Studio.
  • Configure and trouble-shoot video game development consoles.
  • Assist with administration of local server side infrastructure including storage, servers and networking equipment.
  • Assist with Level 1 to Level 2 administration of Microsoft Active Directory.
  • Work with existing VMware environment, including host maintenance and new virtual machine spin up as necessary.
  • Setup and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
  • Provide timely and creative solutions to difficult problems.
  • On call rotation for off hours support.
  • Ability to work calmly in high pressure situations and manage multiple ongoing projects.
  • Ability to mentor and share knowledge with other team members.

QUALIFICATIONS (Required)

  • Detailed and comprehensive knowledge of workstation hardware, Windows, Linux and Mac OS’s, and major desktop software packages.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of the Windows operating system.
  • Basic understanding of Active Directory & Microsoft Exchange in an enterprise environment.
  • 2+ years working in a multi-platform IT support position or Degree in Computer Science or related field, MCSE certification, or equivalent experience required.
  • Will need to be able to work flexible hours or rotating shifts, and on-call, as necessary.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills and problem-solving skills.
